11:31 a.m. - 2006-01-01 It was semi-tragic yesterday and I felt a little gloomy over the fact that it was my first year away from my certain friend's house for New Years. And I know if Mom hadn't decided to pull the stunt she did last night, I would've been an uber bitch for 06. >:( They had this celebration thing downtown where you could go and see these little exhibits and shows and stuff. It was kinda cool. We went walking around through Central Park to look at the lit up Christmas houses. It definitely brought back memories of being a little kid and wanting to go visit there every year. Then, we headed down to the flood museum to go see what all they had open there. Inside, they had all sorts of little mini exhibits. And I knew Mom wanted to put me in good spirits for the night. Which is why it didn't surprise me when she let us go to the drumming exhibit. It was very cool. They had us doing all sorts of exercises and rhythms to try to stimulate good health and stuff like that. It was cool. Then, we waited outside for a little while to go catch the trolley to take us to the Inclined Plane. It finally arrives and we hop on board. All of a sudden, this random lady and her family cuts in front of me & Adam and he winds up with a seat. I do not. I feel bad & don't want him to stand, so I insist on doing so...until fate stepped in in the form of Mommy Dearest. "Oh,.......just sit on his lap." My jaw dropped. "ARE YOU SERIOUS?!" "Yeah!" So, I looked at him, in this kinda "Can you believe her?" sorta glance and made myself all comfy and cozy on his lap, while he laced his arms around me kinda like a seat belt. :-) Finally, we arrived at our destination. It was very cool getting to go on, merely for the fact that Adam had never been on the Incline Plane before. So, of course, we had to stand up in the very front. He made fun of me because I'm standing there basically shaking in my shoes. (In case anybody forgot, you're talking to somebody with a dire fear of heights). He laughed though and said, "But you're ignoring that all just for me." "Yeah, I know..." :-) We walked down to Central Park again afterwards to go check out the band that was playing. It was cool. Sometime during that point, we heard a large booming noise & realized they started the fireworks show. So, we raced down the alley to go see them. We're walking and looking up at the sky. Adam looks over at me, "It's the first time we get to see fireworks together." "No, it..." I paused then in the middle of my rebuttal and realized, he was right. It was our first fireworks show together. So, of course I abused that privilege all too well. I smiled, with a huge grin on my face, and said, "Well, unless we count the sparks that occured the first time I met you." And he laughed of course... :-) So, we watched the fireworks together, oohing & ahhing at the illuminated sky. Then, the finale arrived. I knew Adam had some kind of trick up his sleeve, but I wasn't quite sure what he had planned. Next thing I know, he taps my shoulder. I look over and he pulls me in & kisses me. I was in shock that he did that. And then anger. Which soon ceased. (I was mad because I hadn't kissed him all day. I wanted it to be a delayed tension, where I finally just couldn't take it whenever midnight rolled around. I guess he couldn't take it a little bit more than me because he did that during the finale.) Afterwards, we walked back to our car & headed off to go to Sheetz and get capuccino. I picked a good night to offer to buy. Afterwards, we returned back home. I showed Adam my list for the year, and all the crazy things that have happened in the past few. He seemed very bored with it, so I questioned, "Are you bored? I'll stop. We'll find something to do." I immediately kept reading more of it, about my past, the stupid stuff I did back in the day, and all sorts of random stuff. It was great. Then, it was 11:58. Time to count down till MIDNIGHT!!! :-D "GET IN HERE!" I yelled. And while my family banged pots & pans, I got my midnight New Year's kiss in the middle of my living room without anybody looking. It was fantastic. :) Then, we went outside and joined them. It was very uber noisy outside as they banged pots, pans, and other random objects outside. It was insane. The night concluded right there, with our elaborately small New Year's celebration. Well, gotta go. Peace & love,
